Germantown Area

Welcome to Germantown. Get ready to call this place home!

Elegant, Historic Homes

Originally Nashville's first suburb, the Germantown neighborhood was first established by European immigrants in the 1850's. Over the past few years, Germantown has seen a significant boom in popularity as several of the city's top-rated restaurants, coffee shops, and shopping boutiques have opened their doors alongside the neighborhood's picturesque tree-lined brick sidewalks.

Germantown real estate is known for both elegant, historic homes as well as newly constructed living spaces carefully designed to blend in with the neighborhood's established aesthetic. Many of Germantown's older homes have been remodeled to provide all of the convenience of the area's brand new homes with the charm and character of a house that's been lived in for decades. One of Germantown's signature developments, Werthan Lofts, has played a significant role in Germantown's recent boom in popularity thanks to its contemporary loft styling, community amenities, and proximity to Germantown's hot spots.

Life in Germantown

Staying busy in Germantown isn't hard to do. In the mood for a casual, laid back Saturday? Take a stroll through the Bicentennial Mall State Park – it's the perfect place to enjoy a sunny afternoon playing with the family or simply laying out on the grass. Looking to stay active? Hit the gym at the downtown YMCA, or go for a jog through Germantown's beautiful, historic streets. Fun fact: President James K. Polk, number 11, winner of the Mexican-American War, is buried in a fairly nondescript vault right next to the capitol, which is located on the south side of Germantown.

Germantown residents enjoy the convenience of living within walking distance of many of the best restaurants in the city. From Silo to 312 Pizza to Rolf and Daughters, you're never more than a few blocks from one of the best culinary experiences of your life. Craving a quality cup of coffee? Steadfast and Barista Parlor are located right in the middle of the neighborhood, each offering up a top-tier coffee, lattes, and espresso creations. Cocktail lovers and happy hour aficionados will appreciate Germantown's wide selection of bars, including 5th and Taylor, Germantown Pub, Jack Brown's, and Butchertown Hall.

Germantown is also home to the Nashville Farmer's Market, home of all things fresh and locally grown. Stop by on a Saturday to check out the unbelievable selection of vendors that drive in from all over Middle Tennessee!

It would be impossible to talk about Germantown without talking about the Sounds. Nashville's minor league baseball team calls Germantown home, with a brand new stadium located right off Jefferson Street. First Tennessee Park is decked out with TVs, refreshing drinks at the Band Box, and on-field competitions and shenanigans between innings. It's a guaranteed good time!

We could go on forever about the positives of living in Nashville's Germantown neighborhood, but in the end, it's simple. If you want to live in a trendy, historic neighborhood with incredible food, participate in an endless list of activities on the weekends, and be a stone's throw away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Nashville, this is the place for you.
